Tanjore big temple

Tanjore is a famous town in India. Tanjore is called the Rice bowl of India. Apart from agriculture Tanjore a district in the state of TamilNadu in India is famous due to the presence of the Brihadeeswarar temple. This temple was built in Dravidian architecture the great Chola king Raja Raja Chola I around 1010 A.D. This historical temple is recognized by UNESCO as the world Heritage site and it comes under Great Living Chola Temples. This temple is master piece of South Indian art and architecture. We can see many natural dye fresco paintings through out the temple. This temple is remarkable because it contains the main tower of the temple is 65m high and it is the tallest in the world. The king wanted to build the Peruvudaiyar temple which is the initial name for the temple such that the main tower never casts a shadow at noon during any period of the year. It is miracle in architecture. We ca see historians and architects from all over the world wondering on the temple.
